Paralegal

We are looking for an English and Spanish-speaking, qualified paralegal with an understanding of US litigation/bundles/evidence collection and solid research skills, ideally based in South Florida.

Key Responsibilities

The role will be varied and include:

  • Working alongside Partners and Associates in our Aerospace team to support the development of the Houston Aerospace practice, and to assist the growing LATAM practice (outside of Brazil).
  • Dealing with incoming/outgoing e-mails and post (in English and Spanish) quickly and efficiently.
  • Undertaking daily administrative duties, such as but not limited to scanning, data entry, formatting, and organising electronic and paper files.
  • Undertaking to record and post billable time diligently and accurately;
  • Undertaking to ensure that client communications are spell checked, correctly addressed and properly formatted.
  • Working as part of a team with other members of the Group, including members located in other jurisdictions with a particular focus in our LATAM practice, outside of Brazil.
  • Generally assisting the team as and when required with paralegal and administrative duties.

Key Skills & Experience required

  • A strong academic background with 1-2 years’ relevant experience as a paralegal.
  • A qualified paralegal with an understanding of US litigation/bundles/evidence collection, etc., solid research skills including on Westlaw/Lexus and solid skills on understanding and summarising legal issues not least LatAm law/US cases/case precedent. Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent communication skills: Able to communicate with internal and external clients in a confident and assertive manner.
  • Time management: Able to work to tight deadlines, ensuring a high standard of accuracy, prioritising work between fee earners. Also able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Client service: Dealing with queries from internal and external clients in a professional, polite and considerate manner.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and AI.
  • Flexible with regard to working hours.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be working remotely from home, ideally based in South Florida.
