About Bea

Bea is an Associate in the Shipping Litigation team with a particular interest in marine insurance. She has experience handling complex multi-jurisdictional disputes and has represented a diverse range of clients, including owners, charterers, salvors, and insurers in a variety of cases often involving collisions, salvage, and detentions. Notably, she recently acted for the Government of South Africa in a Supreme Court dispute over the ownership of silver bars worth over £32m salvaged from a Second World War shipwreck in the Indian Ocean.

Bea has collaborated with numerous insurers, reinsurers and brokers across the London market on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Her current case load includes advising on sanctions issues, policy coverage, and intricate aspects of war risks cover including detentions and total loss of vessels.

During her training, Bea spent six months in HFW’s Ship Finance team acting on ship sale and purchase deals and multiple high-value vessel financing transactions. Bea has also spent six months working in HFW’s Dubai office where she acted on a range of contentious matters.

Bea is qualified in England and Wales and is currently studying for her CII Diploma in Insurance.
