HFW Continues Global Disputes Growth With Hong Kong Partner Hire

Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has continued to grow its global disputes practice with the hire of Kevin Warburton in Hong Kong.

Kevin's practice spans international arbitration, commercial litigation, regulatory investigations and inquiries, and privacy/cyber. He joins HFW from Tanner De Witt, where he was a partner and Head of Arbitration. Kevin was previously at Slaughter and May in London and Hong Kong.

Kevin's arrival continues the growth of HFW's global commercial disputes practice, following the arrival of Karen Cheung in Hong Kong and other senior hires in the Middle East and Australia, as well as the launch of a BVI office with the acquisition of a leading disputes business.

HFW has more than 350 specialist disputes lawyers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, and frequently litigates on behalf of clients in courts around the world.

Noel Campbell, Head of Disputes, APAC, HFW:

"I'm very pleased to welcome Kevin to HFW. Kevin brings a wide range of experience to our commercial disputes team and is committed to growing our Hong Kong office. I'm looking forward to working with him on matters in Hong Kong, China and the BVI."

Kevin has advised a range of clients both in Hong Kong and internationally, from private and listed companies, financial institutions, high net worth individuals, to entrepreneurs and multinational organisations. Kevin is qualified in Hong Kong, the BVI and English law and can advise on litigation matters in these jurisdictions.

In addition to having experience in commercial litigation and arbitration proceedings, including in front of HKIAC, ICC, LCIA and other arbitral institutions, Kevin also has experience in regulatory and internal investigations, and data privacy and cybersecurity matters.

Kevin Warburton, Partner, HFW:

"I am excited to contribute to the ongoing growth of HFW's Hong Kong office and in particular working closely with the Disputes team across Asia-Pacific and the BVI, as well as the wider firm. There is huge opportunity for cross-collaboration across the region and HFW provides an excellent platform to continue to grow my practice at a leading international firm".

Peter Murphy, Head of HFW Hong Kong:

"This year marks 45 years since HFW opened our Hong Kong office and we are delighted to welcome Kevin into the Hong Kong team. Kevin is well-placed to contribute to our Disputes practice, and we look forward to working with him to continue our next phase of growth."

HFW was one of the first international law firms to open an office in Hong Kong, and now has more than 60 lawyers providing specialist advice on a wide range of contentious and transactional matters, including across the firm's core sectors of aerospace, commodities, construction, energy, insurance and shipping. Hong Kong is the firm's second-largest market globally, after London.

This latest hire continues HFW's ramping up of growth across its international network. The firm has now added six partners globally in the past six weeks, including a top-ranked shipping and offshore team in Dubai, an aviation finance expert in London, a new London employment head, and a shipping partner in Perth.
